StrataFolio: built in layers, not guesswork

"StrataFolio is P1’s proprietary portfolio construction and management methodology, built in layers, or ‘strata’, that gives us a repeatable, research-driven process for constructing and managing portfolios.

Most portfolio processes are either too rigid or too vague to hold up under scrutiny. StrataFolio changes that by combining Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation with a rigorous 7-factor fund filter, giving advisers a framework they can explain to clients, justify to compliance, and trust to perform."

Core Principles.

Layered thinking

Portfolios are built in defined strata, each layer with a clear role, so nothing is there by accident and every decision can be explained.

Cost discipline

Lower fees are non-negotiable, but never at the expense of returns, because cost control without performance is just a race to the bottom.

Active ownership

Choosing not to change a portfolio is itself an active decision, so every position is continuously monitored, reviewed, and held to account.

Diversification by design

Risk is managed through deliberate asset allocation, selecting funds with differentiated styles and characteristics that genuinely reduce correlation, not just spread it on paper.

Pragmatic conviction

When the evidence supports a decision, we make it, strategic enough to hold a long-term view, tactical enough to act when markets offer an opportunity.

Fund research and selection.

7 Factor Filter

Every fund on the Preferred List has earned its place by passing seven rigorous filters: Cost, Fund Size, Style Bias, Strategy & Process, Manager Tenure, Diversification Benefit, and Quant Analysis. Starting from the full universe of available funds, anything that fails to meet a clear, objective standard across price, liquidity, behaviour, process, continuity, correlation, and quantitative merit is removed. The result is a defensible, continuously reviewed set of funds that advisers can place client money into with genuine confidence, knowing that emotion, habit, and convention have already been taken out of the equation.
